We, Spark.

We Spark! Spark Sourcing is now a sustainability solutions provider, and we couldn’t be happier about it. We scored an exclusive partnership with the manufacturer of a patented, award-winning, and eco-certified plastic-reducing compound. In addition, we offer the most eco-friendly plastic compound on the market: 20% ocean bound plastic + 80% recycled plastic, making products of exceptional quality. We have also established exclusive partnerships with Taiwanese manufacturers adept at using our materials to make cosmetic packaging (jars and tubes), EVA and TPE products (yoga mats, flooring, etc.), plastic film rolls (for thermoforming and vacuum forming stuff like clamshell packaging and food containers), and others.

In short, we have the raw material, and we have the ability to make finished products. Whatever your sustainability goals, whether mandated or self-imposed, we can help you reach them easily and affordably.

Going forward, this blog will serve to introduce our acquired technology and partners in more depth. We will also add our two or three cents to the sustainability discussion, informed by the leading innovators in the field, as well as discuss the business and political climate in Taiwan.

To catch you up on how we proudly got to the point of being a Sustainability Solutions Provider, here is a very rough timeline of the milestones that got us here.

• 1971: Our founder was born.
• 2002: He moved abroad to a small town in China to study Chinese.
• 2004: He moved to Korea to teach in universities.
• 2006: He moved to Taiwan, where he taught at premier science and tech universities, later providing him with an island-wide network of engineers and scientists. He also launched an educational publishing company and wrote a few books while teaching.
• 2017: He left teaching and started a sourcing firm, taking advantage of his language skills and professional network.
• 2017: He found souring screws and bolts not terribly exciting, but enjoyed sourcing hospitality supplies and equipment a bit more.
• 2019: COVID
• 2020: He tried to help source PPE (gloves and masks), and he learned firsthand how dishonest people in business can be, even during a pandemic. He lost his naïveté quickly.
• 2021: Wanting to do something with more impact, he started a consulting company to help mid-size Taiwanese companies develop their image and products for the Western market. It was his sincere desire to give back to Taiwan, and helping businesses develop slick websites, clever social media, and productive sales channels seemed to be a good way.
• 2022: His first few clients were focused on sustainability, which is something he could feel good about, and he saw the light!
• 2023: He established partnerships with folks in the West, and they collectively launched satellite offices in the UK and Canada. He then wrote this first blog piece.

So that’s how we got here… a proud Sustainability Solutions Provider, focused on quality and insisting on doing business ethically and honestly. We are grateful to be able to bring the best of Taiwan to the world, and we are very happy to help companies around the world tread more lightly on the Earth.
