It is imperative to solve the Earth’s plastic crisis.
Bioplastic is not the solution, as it is expensive, difficult for consumers to separate, impossible to recycle, and only biodegrades under very specific conditions, meaning the majority still ends up in our landfills.
Additives to virgin plastic to make them biodegradable are also not viable. They are slow-composting and will cause problems if composted in facilities with faster composting material. In addition, they are not recyclable and must be composted by consumers at home, meaning the vast majority is either incinerated or tossed into landfills.
Greenwashing is also a major problem, with products that sound great but in fact increase carbon. For example, products that use fibers like hemp to reduce plastic 5-10%, but which makes an un-recyclable product that cannot biodegrade. They, too, will have to be incinerated or end up in the landfill.
Our main goal is to keep as much plastic out of our oceans and landfills as possible, where it does the most harm. To accomplish this, we fully support the three R’s: REDUCE plastic content, REUSE what we can, and RECYCLE as much as possible. Only this way is a circular economy for plastics possible.
Our product ecoshell™ epitomizes this approach by reducing up to 50% of plastic, making products of excellent quality that can be reused indefinitely, and making end products that are fully recyclable.
Ecoshell LLC is a sustainability solutions provider with exclusive representation of a patented, certified, game-changing, and award-winning material, with the team and know-how to develop our own IP and patented materials. We also have a network of contracted partner factories across Southeast Asia though which we can develop our own products as well as provide OEM/ODM services for our international clients. We are also beginning to manufacture our own branded products using our own material, in our own facilities.
Our international team members come from various industries (IT, manufacturing, project management, logistics, engineering, and client relations) and apply all they have learned in prior careers toward working together to make a more sustainable future. We have established offices in the US, Canada (female, Indigenous-owned enterprise), the UK, and Taiwan.
We began as a small sourcing firm in Taiwan, then transitioned to a sustainability solutions provider, simultaneously helping Taiwanese companies of the highest quality find their markets in the West. As expats based in Taiwan, we were happy to give back to the fiercely democratic country, and we are proud to offer some of the top technology and best cost to-quality ratio in the world. Our Taiwan base now serves as our manufacturing hub and as our clients’ boots on the ground in the region.
